Wired Flare Becomes Canada’s First Social Media Company to Become a Certified B Corporation
Halifax, NS – Wired Flare Inc. is proud to be Canada’s first Certified B Corporation that specializes in social media strategy and management.
Wired Flare, a Halifax-based online communications company, recently announced that it has joined the ranks of Certified B Corporations around the world. As a niche organization that specializes in social media strategy and management, Wired Flare is the first company of its kind to achieve B Corp Certification. As a companythat works with an international clientele, the certification strategically differentiates Wired Flare in the global marketplace and improves competitiveness in an economy that increasingly places real value on sustainability, social accountability and transparency.
Wired Flare is the thirteenth company to be become certified in the Maritimes. Twelve of those certifications happened in the last 12 months, making the region one of the fastest growing B Corp Regions (per capita) in the world.
According to Wired Flare president, Frances Leary, the company has always been committed to a greater good and driven to make a positive difference “in the planet and the people who live there,” as it says in their mission statement. “I honestly can’t imagine business any other way,” says Leary. “For me, the core has always been about doing good, affecting positive change.”
Since opening its doors in 2011, Wired Flare has demonstrated its corporate social responsibility consistently. Among its efforts include initiatives such as these: its main office is Bullfrog powered; it is a certified WBE (Women’s Business Enterprise) organization with a demonstrated commitment to supplier diversity; and it devotes more than 10% of company resources on a consistent basis to support non-profit initiatives.
For the team at Wired Flare, even its online communication services extend beyond the surface in order to affect positive change. “What we do is about much more than helping our clients increase their bottom lines.
